Slow Down
A morning to tend to yourself.
Do you need time to stop, to gather inward, to let go, or to reflect? Do you promise yourself space for these things, yet it never quite seems to happen?
During the darker half of the year, nature teaches us to slow down. Stillness, reflection, and silence are more readily cultivated in this season. Yet the patriarchal, colonial structures of the Western world urge us to keep pushing—to finish the to-do list, get results, stay busy. There is always something to do.
Over time, this constant momentum can leave us feeling stressed, exhausted, apathetic, or low. When this becomes a pattern, it may contribute to anxiety, deeper mental health challenges, or unhealthy coping habits. So how do we find time to slow down?
Perhaps these thoughts resonate with you. Or perhaps you simply long for a moment each month that is just for you—a designated, protected time that offers space, stillness, and the opportunity to reset and reflect.
We will gather on a Friday morning each month to sit in nature: to craft something small with our hands, to journal, to touch the earth, and to share a quiet moment together.
We will begin with a silent meditation. You may already have a sitting practice, or you may choose simply to observe—listening to birds and insects, noticing the plants around you and how they change through the months. This is your time to draw inward, to pause, breathe more deeply, and begin to connect.
We will then gather around the fire for a herbal tea ceremony, followed by time to journal or record what is present for you. Over time, this becomes a gentle diary of reflection, allowing you to see how you have felt and shifted across the seasons.
Next, you will be guided to craft something—a small gift to yourself made by your own hands, weaving the essence of that moment into your creation. We will then tend to a part of the garden together (or alone, if needed), touching the earth and noticing how we can interact with it. No gardening experience is required.
Finally, we will harvest and prepare a simple meal together to share around the fire.
This is a quiet, spacious morning in nature. No demands. No pressure. Just using your body and hands in gentle, intentional ways to settle into the present moment and embody whatever is alive for you at that time.

Imbolc celebration
Imbolc celebration with Folk on the Farm
Come and celebrate the return of the light with story, folklore and song.
Land yourself in the season as the wheel turns slowly towards longer days. Spend your Sunday afternoon connecting to the land and tending to the fires within. We’ll have quiet moments to reflect and sow seeds for future harvests, snowdrop folklore and plant spirt essence, storytelling, and songs by candlelight to welcome the return of the light. Whatever the weather we’ll gather as we have a new roof to shelter beneath and a roaring fire to warm our cockles as long as the rain stays away! Hot herb tea and seasonal homemade cake as usual.
Wrap up warm and bring along used jar without its label to decorate for your imbolc candle
Come early at 1.45 prompt if you want to join us for small Imbolc play by local children as a free offering this Imbolc
Wassail - bless the orchard, story and fire
As the dark of winter settles in, we gather in the orchard to awaken an ancient spell known as wassailing— a long forgotten tradition from the UK whispered through the roots of apple trees for centuries. Its purpose is to banish wandering evil spirits, wake the sleeping trees, and invite a bountiful harvest in the year ahead.
By firelight we’ll warm our hands and hearts with cider pressed from a local orchard. An afternoon for laughter, voices lifted in song, and joyful noise — because trees, like people, need love and song!
Our magical guide Sammie Longhorn will share fascinating apple lore and her extra special homemade elixir, Kate will guide us through the origin of the wassail tradition and we’ll enjoy a seasonal tale told beside the fire. Hot mulled apple and cider will flow, alongside delicious apple treats crafted for this special time.
Then comes the spellwork…
Armed with pots and pans, we’ll clang, bang, and shout to send any lurking spirits scurrying back into the shadows — a proper WASSAIL! To seal the magic, we’ll offer cider-soaked toast to the trees, blessing them with thanks, song, and promise.
Come wrapped up , bring a pot/ pan and a spoon to bang, and step into an evening where fire, apple, and magic meet beneath the winter skies ( whatever the weather we’ll gather ) !
Children come free ( please let us know how many are coming for mulled apple juice!) Parking at the football grounds on long lane. No refunds available this time.

Samhain celebration
We welcome you once more to wrap up warm, adorn yourselves with seasonal head dress and gather round the glowing embers for story, land lore and song. Allow yourself a precious moment to land and root at this important turn of the year. Our ancestors would have taken this time to reflect and remember our loved ones who have left us, to dive into gratitude for the last harvests and to nestle into the darker side of the year, full of half remembered dreams and deep rest. We will limit numbers for this celebration to weave together a little tighter round the warmth of ancient fire and give sacred stillness and sweet heart felt offerings to our mother earth. We will share apple cake & hot mulled apple juice from our orchard.
If you would like to stay a little longer round the fire you can join us for delicious seasonal soup and Bakehouse24 roll - option to add on 5 pounds to your ticket. 5.30pm until 6.15pm
Plant, planets, myth and healing - stories with Steve Taylor
Plants, Planets, Myth and healing.
There was a time not that long ago that all wisdom and knowledge was passed on through stories, as books were few, and most couldn’t read. The stories, myths and tales about the plants that we still have from those times still carries the most ancient plant wisdom, keeping it available for us to rediscover today.
Join us in sharing some of those stories, using the ancient guide of planetary lore to take us on a journey to the far reaches of the cosmos and back to the plants that we know and love so well.
Steve Taylor is a practicing herbalist, who works to bring back the ancient understanding of how to connect to plant medicine. Having written the book ‘The Humoral Herbal’, Steve reinvigorates the ancient art of Storytelling to open up and share ancient plant wisdom.
Join us round the fire circle for a wonderful afternoon of story, song , hot drinks and delicious cake.

The Nettle Dress
Join us at Patch in Bournemouth for a screening of the inspiring and truly beautiful film The Nettle Dress.
It is impossible to overstate the glorious gifts of nettle. Often maligned for its sting, nettle is a delicious and versatile and deeply nutritious culinary ingredient, and powerful internal and external healing herb. It can also be transformed into a fibre or a dye, so vital for our ancestors!
Join us to celebrate this powerhouse of a plant with talks from Kate Forrester from Four Acre Farm who will share its culinary uses, its benefits for the farm as a whole and what species depend on it. We’ll look at the future of fashion within the regenerative agriculture and what’s happening in U.K agriculture in realtion to growing more natural fibres.
Sammie Longhorn, the Hedgerow Yogi will share the medicine, magic and myth of nettle and how vital it was for her when she recently spent three months eating only wild and foraged food as part of The Wildbiome.
