The Nettle Dress

  • Four Acre Farm Long Lane Ringwood, England, BH24 3BX United Kingdom (map)

Join us at Patch in Bournemouth for a screening of the inspiring and truly beautiful film The Nettle Dress.

It is impossible to overstate the glorious gifts of nettle. Often maligned for its sting, nettle is a delicious and versatile and deeply nutritious culinary ingredient, and powerful internal and external healing herb. It can also be transformed into a fibre or a dye, so vital for our ancestors!

Join us to celebrate this powerhouse of a plant with talks from Kate Forrester from Four Acre Farm who will share its culinary uses, its benefits for the farm as a whole and what species depend on it. We’ll look at the future of fashion within the regenerative agriculture and what’s happening in U.K agriculture in realtion to growing more natural fibres.

Sammie Longhorn, the Hedgerow Yogi will share the medicine, magic and myth of nettle and how vital it was for her when she recently spent three months eating only wild and foraged food as part of The Wildbiome.

You can enjoy delicious nettle savoury and sweet treats, drinks, and have a go at making nettle cordage. We will end with a guided nettle tea mediation to connect us all to the spirit of nettle!
